I’m not the sort of person who normally makes a fuss about things, I’m pretty positive in my attitude to life and I don’t tend to worry, but I did have to put a bit of a brave face on things because I was fairly apprehensive. I did a bit of reading before I went to the Centre, but I must admit I didn’t understand all the technical stuff – not that it mattered because they explained everything so well as I went along and I felt very safe and reassured all the time. My husband ‘John’ came with me and we started by having a chat to my doctor..

The nurse and the radiographer measured all the distance between my head and the frame, to make sure I would fit properly in the Gamma Knife machine when the treatment started.
