Gamma Knife treatment step 3

My nurse was having a joke with me while the doctor was giving me the local anaesthetic injections, ready to fit the frame. I had two injections in the back of my head and two in my forehead. I couldn’t really see what was going on and we were chatting all the time so I didn’t focus on it too much. The injections didn’t really hurt but they were a bit uncomfortable – very similar to the feeling you get when you go to the dentist.

My frame was adjusted before I went into the MRI scanner, just to check everything was correct. It all seemed very matter-of-fact – they do this all the time and are very experienced at it.
